In Maur near Zürich we have a little house with two rooms, and in our home also two guestrooms for travellers. Our 200 year old house is very basic. We all share the same bathroom, and nobody smokes inside. Maur is still a farming village, 35 minutes by tram and bus from the main train station of Zurich (12km east, at a lake opposite of Uster)
Local attractions
- pretty village with 4 restaurants and small castle of XII century
- 5 minute walk through the fields to the lake, or 4 hours around it
Prices per night: single 40 SFr, double 60* SFr, triple 75 SFr includes room, use of hot shower & kitchen. Every 7th night is free. * in double bed 50.
Per month single 700 SFr, double 900 SFr
Parkplatz 10 SFr pro Nacht (wir bezahlen die Busse, falls es eine gibt).

Einen Aufenthalt von nur einer Nacht vereinbaren wir frühestens 2 Wochen im Voraus, und wir verlangen 50% mehr.
Andere Aufenthalte vereinbaren wir frühestens 2 Monate im Voraus.

House for guests 1 to 3 persons SFr 75/night. Final cleaning SFr 60.
- breakfast Fr. 5.- (When we have time.)
- washing machine Fr. 3.- per load
- participation in our meal (if it happens) Fr. 10.-
- bicycles on arrangement
Rules
- use showers reasonably as supply of hot water has to last for all.
- If we have things to do, e.g. gardening, you may exchange 2 hours help for your stay.

Maur is a farming, working and sleeping village at the lake Greifensee with good bus connections into Zurich. We work in Zurich, but we have no car.

How to get there (Do not come without having arranged a stay!)
- a ticket (enter 8124 at machine) costs Fr.8.00 (valid 2 hours),
or an pass for 24 hours (Zones 10, 21,30) costs Fr.16.00
(Train rides to the airport are included in those tickets. If you buy a card with 6 tickets on it, you can buy half fare if you are not over 25 years old.)
(A monthly all zones pass valid after 9am, personal or transferable, costs about SFr.120.-.)
- tram number 3 to Klusplatz (allow 20 minutes to get there)
- then bus 747, leaves at about 19 and 49 past every hour, last bus at 36 minutes past midnight, 20 min. ride via Witikon, Binz, Ebmatingen to Maur Dorf (at the foot of the hill),
- walk 20 meters to Post office entrance, cross street, turn left, walk 100 meters (past metal workshop), look to the right and you see a middle house: yellow wall with wood reinforcement, this is Kehlhof 518
